Renewing a Toddler Table
Started with a blue and pink wooden table, ugly to me and a bit unappealing.
For the table I used stencils purchased from Walmart and traced in pencil then I painted over the pencil lines and filled in the colors I desired.
I started with a handheld power sander and roughed up the paint and wiped off the dust with a damp paper towel. After it was dry I used Apple Barrel Acrylic paint and painted all the surfaces as my 3 year old desired. Green table top, yellow legs, a pink chair and a yellow chair. She was thrilled to see all her favorite colors!
This chair we painted a vibrant pink.
After sanding them down I used 2 coats of paint, let dry overnight then sealed with water based minwax polyurethane.
I want super pleased with how the owl turned out but the toddler liked it and that was the important part. Above photo shows a single coat of polyurethane, I treated twice with polyurethane to be sure it was durable and would hold up to high amounts of use.
