The best heath oatmeal cookies

These cookies are soft and chewy with the perfect flavor combo. My kids who despise oatmeal gobbled them up like they are going out of style.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup melted butter (salted)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
*beat together these ingredients
2 egg (then mix with the electric mixer again, very briefly.

Next add to the same bowl
2 cups white flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Combine these ingredients into the wet mix with spatula

Finally add
3 cups quick Oats
12 oz heath bits [or 3 busted up candy bars]
Optional add 1 cups semi sweet chocolate baking chunks

Once everything is combined into the bowl cover with cling wrap or tinfoil and refrigerate for 1 hour but dough can be in fridge for up to 2 days.

Once the dough is chilled preheat oven to 350 degrees
Line the cooking sheet with silicone baking mat OR parchment paper and place 2 tbsp size balls about 1 inch apart and flatten gently with spoon

* Bake cookies for 10 minutes. *12 minutes of you prefer a less chewy cookie.

[The cookies will look a bit gooey coming directly from the oven but after cooling they are a perfect bite. Makes 3 dozen cookies!]
